Lotus History in Australia

Since I was a young teenager, my father and I followed the history of Lotus sports and racing cars within Australia. This was done by firstly collecting race results and photos from magazines such as Racing Car News, Sports Car World, Australian Motor Sports and Australian Autosportsman.

Over the years, we spoke to, met or knew nearly everyone who raced a Lotus in the country. We were able to keep track of most of the cars that raced actively via our contacts and Club Lotus Australia of which my father was one of the founding members.

I am presently Club Lotus Australia's registrar for the Historic cars, Elans, Plus twos, Elites and recently took over the job of Lotus sevens as well after the previous seven registrar, John Sexton passed away. This job entails keeping track of the cars and informing owners or prospective owners of the known history of a certain car. It is a job I take seriously although it does not take up too much of my time.

I currently run a small transport operation in partnership with my wife which takes up most of my time.

  2. The author here,
I still have copies of my book and each one I send is signed.
They are still A$50.00 and I am still happy to send them anywhere in the world although some destinations require postage more than the book cost.
The Frank Gardner DVDs are also still available.

    Regards, Marc Schagen
